Alvaro Inostroza Bidart (1960) is a Chilean poet. He was part of the famous “Generación del 80”. Inostroza Bidart has published eleven books: Patio de luz (1985); Tendido en público (1986); Señales de vida (1998); Días de fiesta (2004); Hablar de memoria (2010); Zona de extinción (2016); Caja negra (2016); La casa que nos habita (2017, co-written with mexican poet Sihara Nuño); and the plaquettes (chapter books): Libre albedrío (2017); and Entre poema y poema (2018). He has participated in poetry festivals in several countries of Latin America. Alvaro is also a Cinema Critic and publishes a weekly column in La Estrella Newspaper from Valparaiso.

i wanted to travel but I also wanted to love i wanted to be a poet but I also wanted to have a family i wanted not to be afraid of death but I also wanted to watch my kids grow i wanted a better world to live in but I chose to survive i wanted to live the friendship but I accepted the possession of my significant other I wanted to borrow my eyes to transfigure the reality but I ended being barely a witness of this future that dissolves rapidly
