Yvelisse Fanith was born in the Dominican Republic whe she completed her basic education. In 1967 she moved to New York where she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has published the poetry collections Orígenes y Tiempos (2005), Realidad del sueño (2011) and Danza Almagre (2014). Her poetry has been included in several national and international anthologies.
