The Gay Travelers

Look both ways before you hold her hand. We gotta Google where our rights are wrong before we book a plane ticket to another country or state. We gotta play it straight in Haiti. I gotta act like I don’t love her curves.

We’re married but they don’t recognize our hyphenated last name. It takes longer to check our passports.

If I’m the birth mother, my wife has to adopt our kid. If a heterosexual couple has a surrogate the man and woman do not have to adopt the kid.

Travelling the world is a beautiful thing but stuffing my identity into a suitcase becoming stranger to myself I’ll never get used to that.
